The Silverware Anniversary

Last month Jason and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary! It has flown by so fast. We ate at Masraffs, one of our favorite steakhouses in Houston. With the hotel points Jas had saved up we were able to stay downtown for the weekend and explore the city.

First I have to get a little cheesy and say how grateful I am to have such a sweet husband. When we arrived at the hotel he had this table set up:

The flowers and treats were wonderful but my favorite was the photobook. I had been talking about making one for a long time. He put in all of our favorite pictures and inside jokes. It's something we'll always keep.

We went to the Bayou Gardens (14 acres of beautiful gardens and landscaping). I can't find our pictures so I borrowed one from their website. It was so peaceful and inspirational. I can't get enough of the gardens and arboretums in the area.

Next we visited a few museums and a Star Wars exhibit happened to be in town. Neither of us are avid Star Wars fans but we checked it out and it was well worth it! They had original costumes, props, weapons, ship models, etc. It was so interesting to learn how they created the movies. I am sounding like a real nerd but I think everyone would enjoy this exhibit.

Darth Vader, right next to this original suit was the video of Ben Burtt making the breathing noises through a scuba mask, hehe.

Awe, Yoda. He was SO tiny!

Speaking of anniversaries, today is also my parent's 28th anniversary!! They are so good to us and I appreciate their good examples in every way. Love you!

We just got back from Jason's family reunion in Eden, UT. It was a great week to be together and we missed his parents a lot. They are doing so many great things in Argentina. We only had a handful of pictures because a lot of our in-laws are talented photographers so we left the photography up to them. Here's one picture we took though, my sister in-law Sarah and I went horseback riding. You can kind of see how green and beautiful it is up there.

  1. What a romantic anniversary! Thanks again for going horseback riding with me. It's something I've wanted to do for a long time so it was nice to have a buddy:)
